CD Packaging comes in a wide variety of styles and materials.  Whilst normally associated with the storage of music CD’s there are a number of designs appropriate for packaging purposes for use when mailing or contain a free gift, such as card or clear plastic wallets.  If storage is the fundamental purpose of CD packaging then the material used must be durable and able to withstand any pressure that may lead to damaging the holder.  For the more environmentally aware consumers eco friendly products are widely available.  For retail purposes CD packaging needs to be eye catching and appealing to the consumer market.
